The Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District has secured a Coastal Development Permit from the County of Monterey to build a parking lot at Palo Corona Regional Park.

NOTICE – The West (Highway 1) entrance to Palo Corona Regional Park will be closed during weekdays from 11/23/15 to 4/30/16 due to parking area construction.  During this period, public access from this entrance will be allowed on weekends and holidays.

WEEKLY UPDATE

Work on the parking lot continues and is expected to be completed in mid-April.

Week Four – Work is well underway but temporarily halted for the holidays and because of very welcome rains.  Work will pick-up again after the holidays and continue through January into February, pending the number of rain days that will halt work.

Week Three – The parking area is taking shape.  The park entrance from State Route 1 remains closed during the week but open for weekend permittees.
